Hi everyone! I have never created a blog before so this is a first... However, I wanted to have a way to keep you posted on my trip without having to send mass emails. As some of you know I am going to serve for two months on Mercy Ships while it is stationed in Benin, West Africa. This is a ship-turned-hospital where thousands of local people are seen for surgeries and other medical procedures. It is a Christian-based organization that seeks to serve people in third-world countries not only through medicine but also through sending teams out to help with construction and community health projects. To see the ship go to: http://www.mercyships.org/
I have been assigned to work in their ICU working with critically ill adults and children. Ah scary! :) But, this has been a desire of mine for such a long time and Im thankful that God has finally brought it to pass! My manager at work actually gave me a leave of absence to go to Africa so I am blessed to have a job when I come home. Another bonus is that I get to go to Barcelona on my way...! I have never been to Spain so am excited to spend a week exploring this Mediterranean city. I would really appreciate your prayers as I get ready to go... that God would continue to provide, that I would be safe in my travels, and that God would prepare my heart. I am praying that He teaches me SO much about myself, my desires, my calling and my future through this trip. Thank you so much! :) Please email me to keep me updated. I still want to feel a part of your lives!
